Beta & Decision-Support Disclaimer

Please read this page carefully before using geog.ai outputs to inform any decision. This disclaimer is incorporated into our Terms of Service.

1. Beta Status

geog.ai is currently in public beta. This means:

The API, models, and data integrations are under active development. Endpoints, response schemas, and pricing may change.
Spatial models have not been independently validated for all geographies, land cover types, or meteorological conditions.
Simulation outputs (plume, flood, fire spread, RF, routing) carry inherent uncertainty that may not be fully quantified in beta.
Service availability targets during beta are best-effort, not guaranteed SLA.

2. Informational Outputs Only

All outputs from geog.ai — including but not limited to:

Atmospheric dispersion and plume modelling
Flood inundation extent and depth estimates
Wildfire spread and fire weather analysis
RF and wireless coverage maps
Evacuation routing recommendations
Terrain, elevation, and slope analysis
Jurisdictional and permit-area lookups
Population and demographic estimates
Environmental context and hazard indicators

Not a substitute for expert review. Where outputs may inform decisions with safety, legal, financial, or environmental consequences, you must obtain independent review from a qualified professional (licensed engineer, certified emergency manager, environmental consultant, legal counsel, or other relevant expert) before acting.

3. Accuracy Limitations

Spatial models are approximations. Accuracy depends on input data quality, model tier selected, local terrain complexity, atmospheric stability, and other factors outside geog.ai's control. In particular:

Plume / dispersion models assume steady-state conditions at the time of the query. Rapidly changing wind fields or complex valley channelling may not be captured.
Flood models use publicly available DEM data. Urban drainage infrastructure, culverts, and real-time hydrograph data are not incorporated at Tier 1.
Fire spread models are driven by LANDFIRE fuels data and current fire-weather observations. Fire behaviour is inherently chaotic; model outputs should be treated as planning scenarios, not predictions.
Routing uses OpenStreetMap-derived road networks. Road closures, capacity constraints, and real-time traffic are not reflected unless provided as input.
Demographic and population data (WorldPop, US Census ACS) represent modelled estimates with known uncertainty bounds.

4. No Emergency-Response Reliance

geog.ai outputs must not be used as the sole or primary basis for issuing public evacuation orders, emergency alerts, or any other life-safety directive without independent verification by qualified emergency-management personnel using authoritative operational systems.

5. Regulatory & Permit Compliance

Regulatory thresholds and permit boundaries returned by the API are derived from publicly available datasets and may not reflect the most current enforcement posture, permit amendments, or site-specific conditions. Always verify with the relevant regulating authority before submitting regulatory reports.

We actively want to know when model outputs look wrong. Please report accuracy issues via our contact page — it directly improves the beta for everyone.
